Mindy Pelton

About

Mindy has served as Director of the Career Services Center at Western since 2023. A first-generation college graduate and double alum (BA in Cultural Anthropology, MBA), she began her professional career at WWU in 2017 supporting MBA Career Services. Seeking to broaden her impact across campus, she transitioned to the central Career Services Center as Associate Director and was later selected to lead the department as Director. In her current role, Mindy oversees strategy and operations for career services, builds partnerships with staff, faculty and employers, and advances initiatives that expand student access to career preparation and post-graduation opportunities.

Before working in higher education, Mindy lived abroad in South Korea teaching English and later gained entrepreneurial experience helping launch and manage two Bellingham businesses: Perch & Play Café and Tap Trail. Outside of work, she enjoys pickleball, soccer, puzzles, and spending time with her family — including her cat, Peanut.
