Career Fair Logistics for Employers

DAY-OF-EVENT INFORMATION

CONTACT: 360-650-4240

Due to limited parking on campus, please plan to park at our off-campus Lincoln Creek lot. Parking in this lot and Bellair Shuttle transportation is included in your registration.

  • Map to parking lot: Lincoln Creek Park & Ride, 800 Lincoln Street, Bellingham, WA
  • Bellair Shuttle: When you pull into Lincoln Creek Park & Ride, go straight ahead and park near the white tent and WWU Parking Enforcement vehicle. If it’s extremely windy there may be no tent. Feel free to wait in your car until the shuttle returns
White tent, WWU parking enforcement vehicle and two Bell-Air shuttle buses parked in Lincoln Creek parking are on a very wet day

  • Shuttle service hours: Departs Lincoln Creek Park & Ride every 15 minutes, beginning 1.5 hours before the start of the career fair, with the final shuttle departing at the start time of the career fair. For example, if the career fair begins at 12pm, the first shuttle will depart at 10:30am and the final one will depart at 12pm, getting you to the career fair at 12:15. Shuttle service back to the Park & Ride begins when the career fair is over - at the same location where you were dropped off.
  • There is no parking fee: You do not purchase a permit.
  • Please be sure you’re getting on the Bellair Shuttle, and not on a WTA Transit City Bus.

Missed the shuttle to the career fair?
Consider getting on the WTA (city) bus or using a rideshare option. And call us at 360-650-4240 to let us know.

Need to leave early?
You can use the city (WTA) bus that runs regularly. You can find the bus schedule on the Employer Information Sheet on your assigned table. Bus fare is $2 (cash), or you can ask us for a bus pass!

On-campus parking is very limited. We encourage visitors to park off-site at our Lincoln Creek lot and take the shuttle provided with your registration.

Parking on Campus:

  • If you wish to pay to park on campus, please reference the Visitor Parking Information Page. Please make note of the career fair location since we host them at two different locations on campus.

Alternative Transportation Options

  • Uber, Lyft or taxi
  • Ride the WTA (city) bus. Many of the buses make regular trips to and from the Lincoln Creek Park & Ride

We have two locations where we host our career fairs, so be sure to confirm your event location on the event page in Handshake!

Location #1: Is your event in the Wade King Student Rec Center, MAC Gym?

  • The shuttle will drop you off at the 12G parking lot, indicated below in GREEN.
  • A WWU employee will greet you to help with directions; if they are away helping other employers, please follow the arrows in RED below: Walk toward campus, crossing at the traffic signal, toward the Wade King Student Rec Center (see BLUE on map), passing the main entrance, taking a left at the track and field. There will be Career Fair signage on where to turn.
  • Check-in will be through the glass doors in the back of the building.
  • Here is a link to the campus map

Location #2: Is your event in the Viking Union, Multi-Purpose Room?

  • The shuttle will drop you off outside the Viking Union where a staff member will greet you.
  • The career fair is just inside the Viking Union—turn right immediately to find the Multi-Purpose Room.
  • If you get to campus on your own, please head to the Viking Union and look for signs for the Multi-Purpose Room on the 6th floor.
  • On day of event, all employers will receive information on menu provided, timing, and food location. We always have a few GF and Vegan options; however, please consider bringing your own snacks if you have an allergy.
  • In general you can expect:
    • Coffee, tea, and water will be offered 1-2 hours prior to the event
    • If fair is during the 12pm lunch hour, lunch will be provided
    • If fair is after the lunch hour, light refreshments will be provided
  • Plenty of printed copies of your job descriptions or other handouts
  • A printed copy of a QR code - linked to a digital copy of your handouts or website—so students can access a digital copy in case you run out. Here’s a free site to make your own (can link to a webpage, PDF, and more)
  • Preferred lunch or snacks if you have food allergies
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Tablecloth for your display
  • Clothing donations for the WWU Career Closet—FREE professional clothing for students and alumni
  • Have a lot to transport? Consider bringing a rolling bag or foldable wagon - we will have one available for use
